Reunion 2010

Reunion 2010
Memories of Missionaries

Friday, August 24, 2012

Hi everyone, it is time for another great Southeast Mexican Mission Reunion!! Here is some information from David Smith about the reunion:

Now that you have Friday, October 5, 2012 brightly emblazoned on your calendar as this year's SEMM reunion, (Beecroft, Hatch, & Romney) continue making your arrangements and calling your companeros.   Just a reminder--6:00 pm, 650 South 750 East, Bountiful, UT (Bountiful Utah Central Stake Center-Cultural Hall).

Directions: From the North take the 500 South exit (number 316), turn East, drive about 1.7 miles (through 5 lights {stopping as necessary}), turn right (South) at 750 East, in about a block and a half you'll see balloons (green, white, and red, of course) on the right.  That's the place.  From the South take the 500 South exit (number 316), turn East, drive about 1.7 miles (through 5 lights {stopping as necessary}), turn right (South) at 750 East, in about a block and a half you'll see balloons (green, white, and red, of course) on the right.  That's the place.    It's pretty simple, but if you prefer, use your gps devise or consult mapquest.com. for a printed map to follow.

Every one of our reunions has been just a tremendous experience, to see again and visit with dear friends and reminisce about our shared experiences and strengthen our friendships.   Each one has been a little different,  but the hallmark activity has been visiting, visiting,
visiting.  That's what we'll do again this year, only much much more.   We'll sing a few of our favorite "Himnos de Sion".  We're arranging an inspiring speaker.  From many prior comments, the displays have been great, and more are wanted.  Gather up you treasures, lots of them, and bring them along with a written explanation as to why it's/they're significant to you, how and from whom you acquired them, from where, when, etc.

Food this year will be equally delicious as in the past, but won't get in the way of starting our visiting and activities.  It will be a "pot luck" dessert bar.  Bring what you would like to share with others: pie, pastel, galletas, brownies, lemon bars, paletas, flan, pudin, empanadaditas dulces, tamalitos dulces, peanut butter bars, donus, nieve/helado, churros, your favorite recipe or someone else's.  We'll have tables, plates, utensils, cups, napkins, ice water, etc.   In order to help cover the cost paper products, mailings and other out of pocket expenditures, we will request a charitable donation of $5.00/person/couple in addition to the desserts.  Any excess contributions will be donated to the Church's General Missionary Fund or the Church's Perpetual Education Fund, your choice.    In a future notice we will enclose a listing of restaurants (Mexican or other) for your dinner in or near Bountiful.

Also you might want to take a look and add to the Veracruz Mission website which starts with the mission at March 27, 1963.  You can find it at  www.inficad.com/~kdm/veracruz.

Let's, together, make this the best reunion yet.  Be there, spread the word to companions, converts, and other close missionary friends.  You will make it fabulous!!

Fuertes Abrazos, Salud y Felicidades
